Christmas  – so romantic, so nice……and such a great time to go traveling. You’re young, single, loving life, culture and art and want to spend the Christmas holiday at a destination where you meet another gay at your age and even better – meet someone that turns into a good friendship?

You want to go somewhere with regular, normal, everyday places where gay guys hang out. A place where being gay is not made a big buzz about. What continent is more romantic, more „easy-going“ for gay travel as Europe? The diversity of cultures, sceneries, food, art, people and things to do is unbeatable. Each country, one after the other, with complete different Christmas traditions, charm, culture and life. Just loving it! So let‘s go for a 3-City-Christmas trip in Europe.

And of course, we start with X-Mas shopping in the LGBT friendly city of London. Traditionally Soho used to be the main gay area in London. Today you‘ll rather find the interesting nightlife in East London. Start your stay at Dalston Superstore,  a great cafe and bar featuring art exhibitions and performances. Great food and drinks. And if you want more exciting (gay) cultural events, don´t miss the opportunity to visit the Naked Boys Reading Poetry (as you surely understand, the boys are reading naked ). And don‘t forget the Glory, which is one of London‘s greatest gay pubs hosting film screenings, performance art, cabaret nights and disco.

Done shopping in London we choose to spend Christmas even in Berlin – probably the most gay-friendly destination in Europe. The gay hot spots in Berlin you‘ll find throughout Kreuzberg and Neukölln. It is really hard to tell you what to visit first and last in Berlin as the city offers a tremendous variety of LGBT activities, parties, bars, clubs, art exhibitions and so on… Besides the cities countless bars and clubs, you should check out Gebenberlin or Cocktail d’Amour, both great insider tips.

SchwuZ is a growing gay club in Neukölln popular for “Madonnamania” club nights and a monthly party called “London Calling” playing Britpop & indie music. It‘s great!
The lesbian-owned wine bar in Kreuzberg is another insider tip where you‘ll just love its pop-up cabaret opera nights.

Art is important to the queer community of Berlin. You‘ll find many small, good galleries and depending on how much time you got for your stay these two are worth visiting as they are showcasing emerging queer artists: The Bowery or The Coven

And not forgetting to mention the Schwules Museum— exhibitions as well as numerous of cultural events.

For spending New-Years the place needs to be „hot“! So go south, go to Barcelona. With a warm climate, Spanish tapas, clothing-optional beaches, a plethora of cultural offerings, and a well-established, friendly LGBT community, Barcelona is a year-round LGBT destination. The district of Eixample you will find the busiest gay district in Barcelona with all its bars, restaurants, shops… But just don‘t only stick to this area while visiting. Barcelona got great nightlife spots spread throughout the city.  If you didn‘t know you might hear it while visiting Barcelona; Sitges know as Spains best gay destination just a bit more then half an hour south of the city. If you have a day or two to spend outside Barcelona go there. Mediterranean flair, relaxed beach vibe, best restaurants, events and nightlife. This is a place you will also love. But ok, now back to Barcelona and finding the best place to spend New Years Eve 2018/2019. Well, there is not only one „best place“.  In this awesome city there are a lot of fantastic gay locations to have a fantastic party. We found 10 of them that we recommend and you should take a closer look at:  Top 10 Parties Barcelona New Years Eve.

And what more we could recommend for you: download and use our gay traveling and gay dating app u2nite.  Probably the best gay dating app to use for checking out the destination prior to arrival. u2nite boy chat app is a real time app. No old profiles.

If you are new and not familiar to the city you visit, use the map to orientate and use the quick date function for connection. The app then shows you the best place to meet and how to get there. Very useful and very safe!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
